I visited India last in 2008. I landed in Delhi and covered important tourist destination places in and around Delhi, Agra, and entire Rajastham. I devoted two weeks for these places. A private taxi with a driver-cum-guide made it possible for me to cover so many places in just two weeks. Then I flew to Bangalore and rented another private taxi with a driver-cum-guide from there and covered Bangalore, Mysore and surrounding areas, Coorg, Ooty, Coonoor, and Kodaikanal in another two weeks.
The point I am trying to make is this: India is best seen in a private taxi. Why? Because the rates are damn cheap by Western standards. You also get the services of a local, English-speaking, driver-cum-guide included in the price (just make sure you request an English-speaking driver at the time of booking). And since there is no waiting for train, plane, or bus you save time and, therefore, you cover more grounds in less time. You also save yourself the hassle of making advance plane/train reservations. Besides, you move on your own schedule. You can start your day at 6 a.m. or you can start your day at 10 a.m. - the choice is yours. By the way, the car and the driver is at your disposal the entire time for which you rent them, even at night!
If you are interested, I am familiar with the following service providers. I know them personally and I recommend them. But I have no business interest associated with these companies. You can search the Internet and choose another service provider if that provider suits you better.
Let me give you a friendly warning which nobody else (at least no Indian) will ever give you. Inspite of the hype, do not go inside the Jaisalmer Fort (a.k.a. Sonar Kella or The Golden Fort) and do not visit Mandawa (in the Shekhawati region) of Rajasthan. These two places are unbelievably filthy and will spoil your trip. They did in my case!
Lastly, before we go to the India travel videos, let me mention I have published 20 articles on India travel along with tons of photos of different tourist attraction places of India. If interested, please click here to read the articles or see the photos. You have to scroll down the page quite a bit to discover my India travel articles. In all I have about 750 India travel photos in that site each with description!
OK. Here are video slideshows of some tourist attraction places of India. These videos are all made by me from photographs taken also by me. Most of them have old Hindi film songs as background music. I hope you enjoy the videos.
This video shows tourist attractions of Delhi, Sikandra, and Agra.
No narration, only background music (popular Hindi film song).
